Taking an exam to demonstrate your ability to speak English is a splendid idea. But what's best is to be fully prepared to succeed! At our centre, you can follow both preparation courses and English lessons.

English lessons:

As we mentioned above, you can take English lessons at our centre.

Here is a list of the prices and the general outline of the course:

  • Group lessons: 2200 MDL for 44 hours (a group consists of 6 students minimum)
  • Semi-individual lessons: 2700 MDL for 30 hours (a group of 3 to 5 students)
  • Individual lessons: 2000 MDL for 10 hours (1-2 students)

You will be able to learn English and progress through the CEFR (Common European Framework for languages) scale, using Cambridge methods based on the such series of books as face2face, MORE!, English in Mind. The methods we use are adapted to our learners' age and areas of interest.

The levels that we use to structure our courses by are the following:

  • Starter: A1.1; A1.2; A1.3
  • Elementary: A2.1; A2.2; A2.3
  • Pre-Intermediate: B1.1; B1.2
  • Intermediate: B1.3; B1.4
  • Upper-Intermediate: B2.1; B2.2; B2.3; B2.4

For each course of 30 or 44 hours (depending on the group), you will cover a sub-level. That means that if you want to achieve an A1 level, you will have to follow three courses for the sub-levels A1.1, A1.2 and A1.3.

The courses have been structured so as to facilitate a learner-centered environment and to help you grow steadily, but surely towards your goal.

When you come to register, we will offer you the possibility to take a placement test, in order to evaluate your level of English and make sure you are following the lessons corresponding to your level.

Registrations are possible anytime during the year.

The books we use in our lessons are available at the library called Educational centre-International Bookshop, located on Strada columna, 72/3. Here is the list of books you need according to the level of your course (for adults and young adults):

  • A1.1 / A1.2 / A1.3 – Face2face 2nd edition Starter
  • A2.1 / A2.2 / A2.3 – Face2face 2nd edition Elementary
  • B1.1 & B1.2 – Face2face 2nd edition Pre-Intermediate
  • B1.3 & B1.4 – Face2face 2nd edition Intermediate
  • B2.1 / B2.2 / B2.3 / B2.4 – Face2face 2nd edition Upper-intermediate

You should get the student's book and the workbook without the answer keys. Make sure there are CDs enclosed with the Student's Book.

Preparing for the exam on your own:

You can prepare for the exam on your own, using the tools and materials that you can find on the Cambridge English website.

Preparing for the exam at our centre

But if you would like to prepare with a qualified teacher, this is absolutely possible at the Alliance Française de Moldavie. Here, you have the possibility to take group or individual lessons to prepare for your Cambridge English exam.

Before you register for a course, you will have to take a placement test in order to make sure you have the necessary level for the exam you will have chosen to register for. Then, we will find a certified teacher for you, and you will have the keys to succeed!

If you want to register for a preparation course for the Cambridge English: First (FCE) exam, you have several options:

  • Group lessons: 2600 MDL for 35 hours (a group of 6 students minimum)
  • Semi-individual lessons: 2800 MDL for 25 hours (a group of 3 to 5 students)
  • Individual lessons: 2200 MDL for 10 hours (1-2 students)

If you want to register for a preparation course for the Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) exam, we offer you the following options:

  • Group lessons: 3000 MDL for 40 hours (a group of 6 students minimum)
  • Semi-individual lessons: 3300 MDL for 30 hours (a group of 3 to 5 students)
  • Individual lessons: 2200 MDL for 10 hours (1-2 students)

If you want to register for a preparation course for the IELTS (General/Academic) or TOEFL exam, here are your options:

  • Group lessons: 2800 MDL for 40 hours (a group of 6 students minimum)
  • Semi-individual lessons: 3200 MDL for 30 hours (a group of 3 to 5 students)
  • Individual lessons: 2200 MDL for 10 hours (1-2 students)

If you want to register for a preparation course for the Business exam, here are your options:

Business preliminary:

  • Group lessons: 3000 MDL for 40 hours (a group of 6 students minimum)
  • Semi-individual lessons: 3200 MDL for 30 hours (a group of 2 to 5 students)
  • Individual lessons: 2200 MDL for 10 hours (1-2 students)

Business vantage:

  • Group lessons: 2200 MDL for 30 hours (a group of 6 students minimum)
  • Semi-individual lessons: 2400 MDL for 20 hours (a group of 3 to 5 students)
  • Individual lessons: 2200 MDL for 10 hours (1-2 students)

Business higher:

  • Group lessons: 3000 MDL for 40 hours (a group of 6 students minimum)
  • Semi-individual lessons: 3000 MDL for 25 hours (a group of 3 to 5 students)
  • Individual lessons: 2200 MDL for 10 hours (1-2 students)

It is undeniable that following a preparation course for a Cambridge exam will highly increase your chance of success. Your teacher will detail the different parts of the exam with you, work on time management and give you extra tips for grammar or vocabulary!

Being well prepared for an exam will increase your chances of success and your chances of passing the exam thanks to which you can be exempted from the English paper for the Baccalaureate (BAC) exam.
